[donotprint]This mornings smoothie was a take on a classic combination. Orange and Chocolate!
When it comes to eating chocolate I don’t deviate from Lindt, plain, dark and strong! A couple of bars are a staple on the weekly shopping list; it’s my daily 2 square extra special indulgence!
On the contrary, cooking with and drinking chocolate is a different story altogether. I’m more than willing to try all the obvious flavour amalgamations (and the more unusual!)
My first chocolate smoothie was a pear combination, but the chocolate and orange is an outright winner (not that you can go too far wrong with chocolate!)
At the moment I’m I have a tub of Bournville Dark Chocolate Unsweetened cocoa powder, but I spotted some Green and Blacks in the healthstore which I simply must get hands on as soon as I’ve an empty container!
Still not feeling my usual sprightly self this morning I opted for a Pilates workout in the hope of it awakening and energising me. I’m altogether convinced whether or not it’s worked yet!
I’ve another day full of meetings ahead of me today as well as a little presenting of my own which due to my unexpected involvement yesterday I’m a little ill prepared for.
My smoothie has at least taken my mind off it temporarily! /donotprint]
Chocolate and Orange Smoothie [print_link]
Servings – 1
Preparation Time – 5 – 10 minutes
- 3 large mandarin oranges (see picture!)
- Handful of fresh strawberries
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 125g (1/2 cup) soy yoghurt
- Orange Zest
- Using a smoothie make just whizz everything up together until as smooth as can be!
- If using a hand blender, blend fruit to a puree, add to yoghurt and cocoa powder and blend until it forms a consistent, smooth, dreamy chocolate and zesty orange amalgamation.
Top with a bit of orange zest to for extra prettiness!
