Chocolate and mint, the only time the two occur in my mouth are the odd occasion I partake in an aftereight…
And every single night when I brush my teeth having just consumed two squares of Lindt 85% Dark Chocolate!
A chocolate toothbrush, now there’s an idea!
This morning however I whipped up a big tall glass of chocolate and mint green monster goodness.
Lots of spinach, two pears, frozen raspberries, cocoa powder and fresh mint.
Thick and creamy, all whizzed together with soy milk and soy yoghurt, topped off with some crispy coconut and almond granola.
A bit of a mix up, but all you could taste in the end was the chocolate and mint, with a glimmer of raspberry.
I put in three good sized handfuls of spinach, but with the mint and chocolate I could of easily gotten away with a couple more and not have tasted a hint.
The only thing that would have made it even more delicious and a little more indulgent would have been some chocolate chips, but maybe it would have been overkill. It satisfied my unexpected longing for aftereights while at the same time topping up my iron with the massive amount of spinach, what more could you ask for in a smoothie?!
Now that I’m typing about it and looking at the pics it’s got me craving a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream, though I’d say another smoothie would sort me out!
What’s your favourite chocolate flavour combination? [/donotprint]
