Quite the taste sensation

by Peachy Palate on June 6, 2012

That week really did fly in. We had a bank holiday the weekend just gone by meaning we had Monday off work I’m still feeling like I’m a day behind; it will be a good thing when it gets to Friday!

I had an amazing week of eats last week and I’ve a fair few recipes to catch up, but I guess yesterday’s eats are as a good a place as any to start with! What I Ate Wednesday is were it’s at! Smile

Peas and Crayons

A smoothie of course to kick start the work week a little late yesterday morning!

A watermelon, strawberry and banana smoothie inspired by Angela’s Pink Flamingo….

I made mine a whole heap thicker and smoothie like with the inclusion of almond milk and protein powder among other things. Recipe shall be up tomorrow morning. I’d never considered using melon in a smoothie before, primarily because they’re not the cheapest of fruits around these parts…but it was oh so worth it. A super duper refreshing smoothie bowl with quite an array of toppings.

Then came the second of my quinoa flake bakes (from the tropics to the chocolate variety). Blueberry and chocolate flake bake.

It was positively wonderful and quite the mid morning/second breakfast treat. Recipe will be up on Friday. Get your cacao nibs at the ready!

Lunch yesterday was beyond incredible; I posted the recipe yesterday evening.

I shall not bore you with how wonderful it was once again. Just check back on yesterday’s post and feel my love for this salad. Roast butternut squash, chickpeas, spinach, sundried tomatoes and basil with a tahini dressing…need I say anymore!

I didn’t manage to fit any fruit in to my tummy during the afternoon due to my generously sized lunch! My tummy was full to the brim. It tasted far too good to leave even a bite.

Dinner post workout involved more chickpeas…I did mention yesterday that the craze was to continue. The tahini craze also kept on truckin’ with this one! A chickpea and broccoli tahini burger! Possibly the best vegan burger I’ve had to date!

Served on one of my homemade easy peasy spelt burger buns with a simple carrot tahini salad. It “ummed” my way through this one! Recipe shall be up tomorrow evening.

And then before bed, along with one of my cranberry lemon and coconut energy balls, I had a yoghurt fruit and granola bowl made with up of my new homemade granola recipe. It’s been almost a year since I made my first and last granola. It wasn’t that successful….but this one is a humdinger!

I promise it will be up first thing Saturday morning!

Same questions as yesterday…what’s your current food craze? [/donotprint]

That salad looks divine! I need to pick up some chickpeas next week at the store. My latest food craze healthy one is: any sort of berries and my non-healthy craze: red velvet cupcakes. SO GOOD! ;)

Ooh red velvet cupcakes are a good one! Would you believe I’ve never had one! They’re not something anyone makes over here!
