Living foods!…Loving life

by Peachy Palate on August 11, 2012

I wasn’t sure what to title this post as I didn’t want to be blatantly/unnecessarily obvious….nothing like a bit of intrigue in the title. More often then not the title of a blog post is the last part I write but funnily enough I nabbed this one from the get go.

Last week I decided to take it upon myself to a little bit of digging and went on the hunt for Irish food producers and distributors within the vegan, vegetarian and raw food space, the aim being to put the blog out there, make a few connections and work with some new people in spreading the word about the fantastic work and inroads we are beginning to make in this country in terms of providing more variety and responding to the overwhelming need to meet people’s specific dietary requirements, chosen or commanded, we need options, alternatives and the ability to embrace food, life and healthy living Smile

Ireland's Raw Kitchen

The first company to respond quite positively was Ireland’s Raw Kitchen…how I hadn’t discovered this company before now is beyond me!

(Can you spot the blog post title? Smile )

“…. importers and retailers of Organic Raw foods & Superfoods to the Irish Market. All our products are ethically sourced, fairly traded & organic where possible. Ireland’s Raw Kitchen aims to promote a diet high in raw & living foods.”

They’re a family run business based in Galway in the West of Ireland. They clearly have a passion for food, life and healthy living so I was keen to find out more and was delighted when they said they would like to sponsor the site for the next three months.

“At Ireland’s Raw Kitchen we believe absolutely in a holistic approach to life. We believe that just as important as a healthy diet are regular exercise, restful sleep & meditation, respect and compassion for all life on the planet and the pursuit of happiness. We consider each and every one of those elements an integral piece in the jigsaw that makes up the complete picture.”

Upon visiting their website I was more than a little impressed with the array of products on offer, quite a few I had never even heard of and was very much intrigued by.

I had no idea these wonderful substances were available, let alone from an Irish distributor! I’m super excited to try some of the products and will let you know how I put them to use. This is just a small shortlist of the ones that caught my eye but there are loads more to choose from; check out the site, peruse what’s on offer and let me know what intrigues you! Smile  Some of the creams and lotions also look quite delicious…yes delicious! I might just have to order myself the Raw Gaia Chocolate Face Mask!!

The products on offer are amazing and the variety is growing steadily as they endeavour to provide Irish people with unprocessed nutrient dense raw foods, encouraging them to take an interest in and responsibility for their own health.

They promote the introduction of raw and superfoods in to ones diet, making small changes and reaping the amazing health benefits they can bestow. I am in total agreement with their belief that the more the body is provided with healthy nutritionally dense foods the more it will crave them.

What I really love about the company and their approach is the fact that everything is underpinned by their mission to promote health, fair trade, the environment, ethical business and responsible living. They are grateful for being such a business and I’m honoured to be associated with them and to have a link to their wonderful site now placed on the blog.

(I’m not sure if they use the van for deliveries but if it shows up outside my door I’ll be sure to let you know!)

Here’s the one from the site!

Amazing company, fantastic approach, strong values, excellent service (with nationwide delivery available) and an array of consistently growing products to choose from with a detailed run down provided on what they can be used for and the associated benefits of incorporating them in your diet.

That van looks so cool! I’ve never been to Ireland, but I’d like to go someday :)
