I claim to not be a “smoothie bowl fan”. I am a fan, just given the choice of a bowl of oats, or eggs with sourdough toast, it’s usually one of the others I’d opt for. A smoothie bowl for the most part just doesn’t satisfy my appetite, nor my desire for some chew or crunch in a meal. Obviously there is a simple way to solve that, ADD SOME TEXTURE!
I added some granola clusters on top of this one and some dark chocolate chips, as well as including almond butter on top and in the smoothie itself. The result, a thick, ice cream like smoothie bowl that was satisfying on all counts.
It hasn’t been anywhere near as warm in Ireland as it has been in the UK, however, I was 100% not made for the heat. Warm, dry, sunny and about 23 degrees with no breeze is my perfect temperature, ideally a little cooler in the morning and during the night. I can’t even handle a hot coffee at the moment! Smoothie bowls and cold oats for the foreseeable few weeks!
